Contacted Gerrits Kasper, Building Inspector, (5/14/2020) who stated, "

  Ice and water shield is required for roofs in Fairplay. It has to be at least 2’ up from the inside of the exterior wall. That usually means that two 3’ layers will be needed at the bottom of the roof. We also require it to be placed in the valleys. The rest of the underlayment can be 15 lb. felt although we highly recommend that the whole roof is covered in ice and water shield.

  We have a shingle requirement that it has to be rated for 110 MPH wind speed.

  Our inspections are sheathing (to make sure that the plywood/1X8 are structurally sound), mid-roof (to make sure that the ice and water shield is applied appropriately), final and jobsite cleanup."
